Fall of Poppies: Stories of Love and the Great War by Heather Webb

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

All good and safe stories. Not a lot of passion and daring do but if you like a clean romance with a good moral behind it then this will do

The Song of Hartgrove Hall: A Novel by Natasha Solomons

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was not expecting all the crazy and cool moments in a book centered around folk songs and saving a Hall from ruin. Scandalous behavior and love abounds to make this a great ending year novel.

Rare Objects: A Novel by Kathleen Tessaro

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kathleen Tessaro has done it again. Some authors just have the gift. Rare Objects makes the heart sing with joy and cringe with pain. Maeve Fanning will steal people’s imaginations long after they finish this book.

Linsey Hall knows turns up the heat and fury in Witch’s Fate!

No holds bar alpha action with appearances from past characters makes this series one of the best in its genre. No apologies or weepy moments makes this a great quick read worth every minute.

The Singer from Memphis by Gary Corby

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series just gets better as the years go by!

I’ve always loved Gary Corby’s Athenian series because its honest, laugh-out-loud funny, and even romantic. There’s not many books about Athens it seems most are about the Romans so I appreciate it even more.

Murder Most Malicious by Alyssa Maxwell

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thanks Kensington Books and netgalley for this ARC.

The different personalities and characters boldly adhere to their time period and station in life toward the world and each other. Sometimes this is stifling and hard to read from a modern view, but I like the way Alyssa Maxwell writes. There are so many ways this series can be expanded and taken in different directions, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Goodreads | nikkia authement (Chauvin, LA)’s review of Mademoiselle Chanel: A Novel

I have never been able to afford Chanel products, but i loved watching the style network run way shows when they used to play years ago. I always would browse thru department stores and wonder what the big deal was about these products. Now I see that fashion affected people’s lives in ways that I never imagined. this book will open your eyes to more than just the fashion industry and Chanel . She was a fascinating woman to learn about in this great book. I am happy I did not live at that time, but if I did I would have worshiped Chanel too! Copy of ebook from Netgalley.
